I offer flute lessons, both in-person or online, specializing in intermediate and advanced students, although I am open to helping beginners over the age of 10.

My aim is to help you to fulfill your musical goals, whether they be to pass an exam or prepare for a performance. I believe that excellence in music-making is worth striving for and so I am keen for you to get a thorough grounding in technique, breathing and music knowledge. I look for regular opportunities for you to share your music with others.

I graduated with a BMus, have an LTCL flute diploma, a PGCE and an MA in music performance. I am an experienced teacher and classical chamber music performer. I am a member of the British Flute Society and Musicians Union and have performed throughout the UK and Europe.

I also offer lessons in music theory and provide extra tuition in GCSE and A’level.

I am also available to accompany you on the piano at your exams and performances.

Charles Sugden

I am a recently retired vicar and have over the last 20 years taught cello, flute and class music. After a music scholarship at Radley College, I studied history at Cambridge followed by PGCE course.

Orchestral experience in Cambridge, Derby and Dorset has combined with extensive solo and chamber music experience with the ensemble ‘Speranza’.

I received a distinction at ATCL Cello (2015), tuition from the BSO’s principal cellist, combined with tuition from a former pupil of Casals. All this has helped make me a joyful, rounded musician.
